Change Came This Year, and Last

Last year at this time Barack Obama brought with his campaign the buzz-word CHANGE, and made history with his election to the Presidency.

This year, the elections have brought CHANGE to our state of New Jersey with the election of Chris Christie (R) as our Governor, as well as to Virginia by a landslide with Robert McDonnell (R) unseating Creigh Deeds (D), and New York held on to Michael Bloomberg (R) by a closer margin.

It's the first time since Christie Whitman was in office so many years ago that we have elected a Republican into office here in NJ, and after two visits by President Obama on Corzine's (D) behalf. Either people really want change, and not quite the kind of change Corzine (D) and President Obama (D) want, or they just like candidates with the name Christie in them...kidding...I know we long for change in our corrupt government in my State, and now we're going to see if all that was promised will take place.

I'm sure you've heard the talk, depending upon what news station you watch or listen too...suggesting that this is a "statement" against the current Democratic party, and our President. I say maybe, Pelosi says no, that the Democrats won last night due to the results of a tiny part of Northern NY where a Democrat unseated a Republican...and a quick shift of topic to Health Care Reform.

Depending upon your perspective, the election of Barack Obama has brought change...but whether it's the kind of change he wanted to bring, I don't know, and whether he's to "blame" for the change in NJ, Virginia, and keeping a republican governor in place in NY, I don't know, time will tell and so will future local elections.

No matter what the reasons, I know I'm a happier New Jersey resident today!
