Health care is a huge topic in the election this year, and a big issue in our own home as my husband is a diabetic who takes several medications, and will for the rest of his life most likely. I am still getting used to the difference between Medicare and Medicaid, let alone knowing whether we are eligible for Medicare D coverage. I understand that actually we are not, because my husband is not yet retired...but have to research that more. Still, it isn't a bad idea to begin to understand these things now, as the future will be the present before we know it.
I understand now that a Medicare Part D benefit is the coverage you may be able to get to cover your medications. If you have recently retired, are looking ahead to retirement, are moving, or have a family member that may be going into a nursing home who needs your help understanding Medicare, then a website I visited called "My Part D USA" may help you to understand what Medicare D is all about. I found this site to be very helpful.
Now, I've listened to the Democratic National Convention, it's time to listen to the Republican National Convention, and when
you vote, be sure to know where your candidate of choice stands on the important issue of health care.

Rush to Health Care Reform
Interestingly, last year almost to the day I did the following post on MTP, and look where we are today...the topic of health care reform is causing more than a stir, and making people stand up and take notice through Town Hall Meetings and other venues. The freedom that we have to express ourselves is a wonderful thing, and seeing it expressed is wonderful too, as long as no harm is done. I hope that it will lead to a balanced....NOT rushed...solution to our health care situation. It definitely needs a change, but not something to hurry through like so many things have been rushed through so far...there's too much at stake. Here's last year's post, almost to the day:
